5 Things to Keep in Mind When Using Sunscreen

  1. Apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before going out in the sun.
  2. Reapply every 3–4 hours, depending on the SPF protection level.
  3. If you have oily skin, choose lotion or gel-based sunscreens; if your skin is dry, opt for cream-based formulas.
  4. For children, spray forms are often easier to apply.
  5. Since sunscreens are not highly water-resistant, don’t forget to reapply after water exposure—especially for children.
